 FAQs

  • We cover ALL the details someone might wonder about before they first the spot in person!

Where to park, how to navigate the space, where to order and pay, where to find the restrooms, how accessible the location is . . . like, all the details.

  • Fill out the form at the bottom of this page to submit your location. We’ll review your info and contact you if this seems like a good fit.

When we email you, we’ll send over our full partnership package document that covers exactly what’s included. If everything looks good, you can sign the agreement.

  • We usually focus on things to do around town — activities, spots to eat or drink, unique shops, etc. We cover spots in Omaha and all of the surrounding areas, including Lincoln, Council Bluffs, and other small towns in the area.

We are selective with the spots we take on for location guides because we want to feel pretty confident that we’re highlighting places our audience will be interested in (which means when you sponsor a post with us, you’re reaching a receptive audience).

Industries we typically don’t cover at this time: healthcare-related brands, spirituality-related brands, brands without a physical location or physical product.

  • When we choose to highlight a location, we do that for free.

When a brand reaches out to us and asks us to highlight their location, that’s when we’ll ask for a partnership fee.

Why? Because it takes time and resources to create this kind of in-depth content. Receiving payment for some of the posts helps make this more sustainable for the long run, so we can keep showing love to local businesses!

The payments we receive for sponsored posts get invested right back into the work. We use those funds to pay for visiting non-sponsored locations (e.g. buying our meal for a non-sponsored post at a restaurant), equipment (e.g. video editing software), etc. So by sponsoring a post with Omaha Guidebook, you are paying it forward to help another local business in the future.

  • Yay! Excited to work with you.

First we’ll work with you to get the deposit taken care of. We ask for a 50% deposit upfront, which reserves your spot in our calendar. Payment can be made via credit card, Venmo, PayPal, or ACH.

After that’s squared away, we’ll work with you to lock a date on the calendar for us to visit your location.

Our expectation is that you’ll notify any employee(s) ahead of time that we’ll be visiting at that time and filming video/taking photos while we’re there.

When we visit, we usually are filming when we walk into the location. Then we’ll stop and introduce ourselves, and give a little explanation as to what we’re doing if needed. It always helps things go smoother if your employee(s) are expecting our visit, so there’s no confusion when we get there.

After that, our process is pretty simple. We’ll follow the same process a typical patron follows and take video/photo of the experience and the environment. We might have some questions for an employee to clarify details.

After our visit, we’ll give you a heads up about when we plan to post the video. We’ll also ask you to pay the remaining balance before the video is posted. Typically there is no review process before the video is posted.

  • Absolutely. We understand there are situations where a person may not want their face shown in content posted online for safety or other reasons.

If that’s a concern for your brand, please let us know when booking. When we edit your location guide, we will blur all faces shown in the video.

  • First, for booking locations, we usually schedule anywhere between 1-4 weeks out, depending on our schedule and content calendar at the time. For seasonal business, we can reserve your spot on on our calendar up to a few months in advance. (For example, you could book us in March to get your spot reserved and then have us visit in June.)

Then for a turnaround time for posting, we usually aim to post the location guide about 1-2 weeks after filming at your location.

Want your location guide posted sooner than that? Depending on our calendar at the time, we can usually accommodate that. We ask for a 20% rush fee for a faster turnaround time. Please let us know when booking if you’re interested in that.

  • Does the event recur weekly or monthly? It could still be a good fit for a location guide! Fill out the form at the bottom of this page to request a partnership.

We usually reserve our in-feed social posts for our location guides. If the event is a one-time thing or does not recur often, it’s possible we could work with you to promote the event through our Instagram and Facebook stories. To ask about a sponsored story promo for an event, send us an email at hi@kindred26.com with more details about your event.
